WHO IS THE DISTAINED:
Fresh out of high school, The Distained are four Tulmur/Ipswich teenagers lashing out with a vicious intent. In a brutal pursuit, with an energy and enthusiasm that is synonymous with youth, they have abolished age as a barrier while inciting neighbourly noise complaints with their border crossover of punk, encroaching into the realms of thrash. They command a spiteful authority over their music that is beyond their years, forging hard on their craft as to not disrespect or dishonour the genre. Come to a show - The Distained are teenage disciples of thrash and destroy – no hate, no gimmicks, no division, just hard out kick arse anti-fake slashing punk to punish your eardrums and blow the roof off!
WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO:
Throughout their short time together “The Distained” have already begun accumulating achievements which are extremely impressive for any group, let alone one so young. The band released their first studio album on October 11th 2024, playing it in its entirety, the same night to a sold out launch show. Their song Slamdanceathon came in at the blistering number 2 spot on the respected 4ZZZ Hot100 countdown for 2024. The Distained are the youngest band in 4ZZZ history to reach a position so high. They have also been pumped to have had both Triple J and Unearthed air their songs multiple times.
The Distained has been honoured to share the stage with legends such as: Radium Dolls, Lower Class Brats, Anty! (The Bennies), Ben Ely (Regurgitator), LOLA.
LOOKING AHEAD:
The Distained are taking 2025 by storm. With their second release, an EP, in the works. The band is gearing up to drop two powerhouse tracks—"Seven X" and "Conceal"—in the first half of the year, giving fans a taste of what’s to come. While the rest of the EP is being written and recorded, The Distained aren’t slowing down. With many shows booked between now and the end of 2025, they are hitting the stage harder than ever, bringing their high-energy sound to as many crowds as possible. But this is just the beginning. As their name grows, The Distained are setting their sights on bigger stages, bigger crowds, and bigger moments. This year is about making an impact—and they’re just getting started.
